Bruno is a 9 month old sweetie pie! He is a very dark steele gray, with a sheen of red and some white on his chest and paws. He was rescued after waiting 5 months at the pound. He was dumped at the pound at 4 months old along with his brother. His brother was adopted but not Bruno. He was so fantastic at the pound, they used him as the "greeter doggie" and the "tester doggie" when they wanted to see if a new in coming dog was good with other dogs. Bruno is very quiet...we have not heard him bark yet! He weighs about 45 lbs and is lean and beautiful inside and out. He knows basic commands, loves to play with other dogs and thinks he is a lap dog.
Paulie is a SUPER STAR! He is a 1 1/2 yr old Standard Pinscher (AKA German Pinscher). He weighs 33 lbs but could stand to shed a few lbs:) He is excellent with all dogs and loves all people. We rescued him after 5 months at the pound. He is fun, affectionate and full of personality plus. Paulie is house trained, loves the dog park, rides perfectly in the car and is crate trained.
Penolope is a 2 year old sweetie. She was hit by a car and taken to the vet by a good samaritan. Her owner was found but she would not pay the bill. AIF was contacted and we took her in. She is in a foster home with all adults and a small doxy mix. She has recovered from her broken pelvis and hip. This is what makes her "Special Needs".... She can't be with large dogs that could step on her or young children that could drop her. She runs and walks like nothing has ever happened to her! She weighs about 12 lbs. She needs to stay trim and fit because of what her body has gone through. It would be too difficult on her to have to get rid of extra weight gain. Penelope is very affectionate and faithful. Lovely Rita, Metermaid is a sweet mini pinchser. You have probably seen her with her mate Telly. Telly is being adopted so we really want to found Rita just as great a home as Telly got. Rita is a gentle fawn of a dog! She is a 4 year old Mini Pinscher mixed with Italian Greyhound that is spayed, has all her shots, house trained and crate trained. Rita loves to be with the person that she is bonded to. She is very faithful and affectionate!! Rita has grown up with another doggie and a teenager. She is great with other dogs. She used to live in an apartment but now she is at a foster home where she gets to run and play ball with two other dogs in a huge grassy yard. Rita would love to snuggle with you under the covers and warm your lap while watching TV.
Arca Rose is a very sweet and loving girl. She has a beutiful chestnut shine to her fur and may have a touch of Vizsla or Pharaoh Hound in her. Her "dad" just passed away and her "mom" has the begingings of Alzheimer's and is unable to continue caring for her. Arca is 4 years old and would love to go on long hikes or walks with a new family. She has so much love to give and such an excellent personality! Arca is in a home right now with a small dog and a few cats. She is great with other dogs, kids and everyone she meets.
Echo is a Belgian Shepherd who was abandoned by her owners for some time and was fending for herself. She was in very poor condition when rescued, dehydrated and starving and had a very damaged front paw, likely due to being hit by a car.Unfortunately, the accident caused her irreversible nerve damage and the only option left was an amputation. Her extraordinary spirit came through and within that first week, although not too coordinated, she was running free, happy to have the wind in her face and was the dog she was always meant to be.

Age - approximately 3 years old
Weight - approximately 60lbs
Health - Spayed and micro chipped and current on all shots.
Disposition - Good around male dogs, not so good around females. Loves people of all sizes and ages, so she is great with kids. No experience with cats so this is untested.
Sweetness - She loves to show her affection through licking toes and bumping her nose against you.

Stanley is a Border collie/Jindo mix he is about 4 years old. I can see him loving to be with someone that works from home. He is really a romantic!!! He weighs about 45 lbs. He can adapt anywhere, he is one of the most living and caring Dogs that I have ever encounter. He loves to be pet, loves the attention. He protects his home and his masters, house trained, he is very calm, healthy, strong. He gets along once he realizes the other dog is not a threat; but he is not to be placed with another dominant dog. He is extremely affctionate!!!!!! He would be a great companion even for a senior citizen as well.
Miley is a 2 yr old yellow lab
Miley weighs about 65 lbs and is great with dogs, children & NO CATS! She loves squeaky toys and wants to be a best friend! Miley loves to play with the other dogs at her foster home. Miley has been fully trained by Julie Iles at Lockwood Canine Training Center (knows all basice commands, station mat, crate and house trained.)
Summer is a 2 yr old yellow lab
Summer weighs about 50 lbs and is great with dogs, children & cats. She is food driven and wants to please! Summer would love to follow you around, go on hikes and give you kisses. She is fully trained by Julie Iles (knows all basic commands, station mat, crate and house trained.)
Casey is a 3 year old Chesapeake Bay Ret./Lab mix. He is excellent with dogs and children! He really enjoys swimming and being with those that he loves. He needs one more knee surgery and we need to find a foster home that will care for him during this time. He's a wonderful dog and loves to play with toys and balls. Our goal is to find him a forever home. ADOPT ME!
Lewis is such a gentleman! He is calm and loving. He lives with several other dogs, a cat and a 5 year old girl. He loves to sleep under the covers too. He rides perfect in a car and walks just as perfectly on a leash! He weighs 22 lbs. Lewis was dumped at the pound by his owner who no longer wanted a black dog. DISGUSTING!!
Potsie: He is ready for a loving home. Potsie is a super smart Mastif mix. He is 2 yrs. old and super mellow. He is great with other mellow non alpha dogs. He has been fully trained at Lockwood, fixed and has all his shots. Potsie really loves to be with his family or person that he loves. He is not the type of dog that can stay alone for long periods of time...he is so smart that he can get bored easy and think of things to do. Potsie would be great at a casual office place or with someone that works from home. Potsie loves to lay on a soft bed in any room his human is in! ADOPT ME!
Violet is a super super sweet golden retriever that is 3 years old. She is a very loving girl that is in a foster home with several dogs and doggie visitors. She also lives with cats. Violet is very gentle and such a wonderful dog! Violet came to us with a horrible skin infection and allergies. Her foster mom has taken such excellent care of her and has her on a very special regimen that costs about $300 a month. Over the next year, this amount should reduce. Every year should reduce in price. Right now she has to take 75 mg of Atopica a month ($204 a month). She started out at 125 mg. Violet has to be weaned off of this medication slowly. The best case scenario would be that she eventually can be without it. Violet also needs biweekly allergy shots, a special bath 2 times a week and oral flea medication every 2 weeks. She is worth it!

Bob Dog was rescued as he was running through traffic in 113 degree heat in Encino. AIF was never able to find his owner. He is a super sweet 6 yr old border collie mixed with flat coated retriever. He weighs 60 lbs., neutered, all his shots and full of love to give. He walks PERFECT on a leash, house trained and wants to lay on the couch with the person he loves.
Bob Dog is a very faithful dog that would do anything for his person. He gets along with other dogs but no cats!
Spencer (a pug/chihuahua) and Princess (a chihuahua) are madly in love with each other and would be so sad to be away from each other. They are being fostered now but really want a forever home and stop their traveling and settled down. These two dogs play all day long. All they want is a yard, a bully stick and a soft bed. Princess prefers to sleep under the covers. Spencer is fully trained and loves to go for walks. These two dogs are so special and loving. Princess is the sweetest chihuahua in the world. If she can't be on your lap and kissing you, her world is incomplete. Both weigh about 10lbs each and Spencer is 1 1/2 yr and Princess is 2 1/2 years old.
Smiling Jack is a five year old hunk of a dalmation. He weighs 70 lbs, neutered up to date on his shots. His owner, an elderly woman, had to give him up. He has grown up with dogs, horses, cats and children. He is easy to walk on a leash, house trained and very loving.
Axel and Nicki are the sweetest Mom and Son beagles ever. Axel is five years old and his mom is 10 years. Both act like puppies though. They are currently staying with Wanda, so it's beagle heaven at Evelyn & William's house.
Bella is a 10 month flat-coated retriver border mix. She has been fully trained in all basic commands, house trained, crate trained and loves to ride in a car. Bella is great with children, cats and other dogs. She weighs about 55 lbs. Look at that face!!!!

Ginger is a beautiful, sweet, small pure bred cocker spaniel, around 5 yrs old. 18lbs. She is happy, gentle and very loving. She is very well behave in the home and behaves very well with all dogs, people and children. Ginger has a lot of good energy and loves to play with other dogs and her toys. She listens well to direction and stays by your side. It looks like she has the beginning stages of cataracts but has no problem finding her way around. Scruffy is a sweet, affectionate, adorable 10 lb., 2 year old, Terrier. He is very happy, playful, great with other dogs and all people. Great in the car and loves to go for walks. He would love to go into a home with another dog around his age/size. He is crate trained, neutered, current on all vaccines and micro-chipped.

Thelma is a DELIGHTFUL doggie! She was a stray at the pound that was over bred then 'thrown away'. Thelma is only 2 years old and has so much love to give and really wants to be loved. She was rescued with another dog named Louise. We think that they may be mother and daughter.
